Danny Beer

After graduation I spent 4 years in the Air Force where I worked on the Minuteman and Titan II, ICBM programs. After discharge I came back to work at Lyon Gear, Rochester Gear, and National Twist Drill. I have been at Lyon for 55 years and was President for the last 30. Janey passed in 2019 and I have re-married to Jane Kennedy. Together we have 9 grandchildren and they all live in Michigan. We are snowbirds and spend summers in Waterford and winters in our condo in Sarasota and our home in the Villages.
I have attended 27 Detroit Tiger fantasy camps as well as three Hall of Fame camps in Cooperstown and four in Las Vegas. It has taken 7 knee and one shoulder surgery to keep me on the field but so far the repairs are working.

When I was learning to pole vault on the track team and Coach Jereau was trying to show me the right way to do it. If you remember Coach, he wasn't exactly built like a pole vaulter, so he looked at me and said "you're going to have to do like I say, cause I sure as hell can't show ya".
